I developed a passion for birds and a love of drawing at a very early age!
This grew into an ambition to create a career from my work. After completing Wildlife illustration at Carmarthen College of Art and a while later an MA, I then worked on various commissions and had lots of exhibitions establishing myself into the dream I had created. I have had my own giftware company for 23 years which has provided me with lots of experience in the commercial world alongside the evolvement of my art! The media I use is gouache and watercolour.
In recent years I have manufactured several lines of stationary for the RNLI and developed and sold framed Giclee prints through out the UK.
This website shows my collection which I hope has something for every ones taste. Apart from bird watching I enjoy natural history, exploring, walking, interior design, gardening and photography!
Hens are another recent passion - I have 8 hand-reared babies living by the aga at the moment and an assortment of rare breed Orpington’s and Cochins in the garden! My two children Sam and Lucy are nearly grown up now (what ever that means!) and are both away at university.
I’ve just walked the |North Norfolk coast path with Lucy -we carried Freddie our small puppy most of the way although he did walk several miles himself! George the African Grey parrot is not too impressed by this latest edition to the family, – he’s been here 18 years!
While bird watching in the Gambia several years ago we found a nursery school in urgent need of support. Since then we have built classrooms, a kitchen and a toilet block! We run a feeding programme and we are now training some of the teachers. Please have a look at our website www.gambianchildrensfund.com
